Date: 18th August 2018
Saturday 18th August 2018. Meeting at 0830 in the layby by the side of the A828 opposite the Ballachulish Hotel PH49 4JY before driving out to the start of the walk which is up a minor road beside the golf course and then a short section of forest track.
This is a level 3 walk of about 13 km and will take between 6 and 8 hours to complete.
After leaving the vehicles in the layby on the forestry track, we will start on a good track through the forest and into Gleann a' Chaolais where the path deteriorates into a series of small bogs. Ahead lies the bealach between our two Munros and we will pick our way up before heading first, west to Sgorr Dhonuill with it's short, rocky, slightly exposed scramble up onto the summit for some fantastic views (given the weather) before returning east to the bealach then up onto our second Munro, Sgorr Dhearg. Returning to the bealach then dropping north back onto the inward paths for a return to the carpark.
There will be an option to return to the Ballachulish Hotel for refreshments on our return.
There are a large variety of accommodation options available in nearby Glencoe with the www.clachaig.com nearby www.redsquirrelcampsite.co.uk as well as B7B's, private Hostel www.glencoehostel.co.uk and the SYHA where you can use my code King-18 for 10% discount.
Cost is only £35 per person (maximum group size is 8)
