Date: 20th May 2018
Sunday 20th May 2018, starting at 10:00 am. A level 1 walk of about 10 km on a well constructed path which will take between 3 and 5 hours to complete.
Ben Vrackie stands tall behind Pitlochry and is a popular hill walk for those visiting the town. It gives a lovely view south out over the town into the lovely Perthshire countryside.
This is a chance to get out into the hills, to see and feel why it is such a joy to be outdoors in the Scottish wilderness. You'll meet like minded people, spend some time understanding the basics, including, what to wear, what to carry, how to walk on uneven terrain. There will also be a chance to see how a map and compass work. It is also an ideal opportunity for you to ask any questions
You should dress for a day in the hills, with stout footwear, wind/waterproof clothing, including a hat and gloves. Bring adequate food & water for 5 hours walking.
We will meet in the car park at the Coop food store, West Moulin Road, Pitlochry, PH16 5EA before driving the last mile or so together to the car park at the start of our walk.
We will finish our day in the Moulin Inn for a light refreshment and a blether.
