Date: 22nd October 2017
Sunday 22nd October 2017, starting at 0830. We will meet at the car park on the north side of the road to Dalmunzie House Hotel at the Spittal of Glenshee, just off the A93 before you cross the road bridge.
This is a level 3 walk with a fairly straightforward walk-in on a good path to Glas Tulaichean. The walk takes on a different character after this summit with first a walk around the corrie rim and a descent on a wide ridge before crossing a boggy area before ascending Carn an Righ. Given good weather conditions, the views are fantastic from this summit.
We will then drop down to lovely Loch nan Eun which sits at just below the 800m contour line. From here we follow the Loch outflow down some steep ground on a worn path before picking up a landrover track and returning to the car. If the river levels are high we may walk out to The Spittal as the old footbridge over the Allt Ghlinn Thaitneach has been washed away
Total distance is about 27 km (17 miles) and I'd expect to be out for between 8 - 10 hours to complete this walk.
Remember and bring your headtorch and spare batteries, daylight is short at this time of year.
Cost is only £30 per person (maximum group size is 10)
Availability: this trip is fully booked
