Date: 11th August 2018
Saturday 11th August 2018 meeting at 0830. A Level 3 walk with a total distance of about 17 km, usually taking between 8 and 10 hours.
Beinn Fhionnlaidh and Sgor na h-Ulaidh are hidden away at the back of the grander Glencoe peaks and are often missed for not being as spectacular as their more famous neighbours. This route takes us off the beaten track to ascend these two forgotten hills. Starting in Glen Etive, up through a forestry plantation and out onto open hillside with no paths we will ascend Beinn Fhionnlaidh first before picking our way carefully down and round the crags and up onto Sgor na h-Ulaidh before returning to the start.
We will meet at 0830 in the Glencoe Ski Centre car park, PH49 4HZ where we will get into as few cars as possible before driving into Glen Etive as parking is very limited at the start\finish of our route.
There are a large variety of accommodation options available in nearby Glencoe with the www.clachaig.com nearby www.redsquirrelcampsite.co.uk as well as B7B's, private Hostel www.glencoehostel.co.uk and the SYHA where you can use my code King-18 for 10% discount.
