About Me

Hillwalking guide Murray Wilson has over 30 years experience of hill walking, Munro bagging, hiking, trekking, backpacking and mountaineering in the United Kingdom. I offer clients guided walks of the mountainous areas of Scotland, nature walks, adventure treks, camping trips, scrambling, winter mountaineering and more, all tailored to your requirements.

A qualified Mountain Leader, Mountain Safety Advisor to the BBC, NNAS accredited navigation instructor, First Aid trainer with an outdoor emergency First Aid certificate (appropriate to the Outdoor Environment) Duke of Edinburgh Award accredited Supervisor and Assessor and the holder of a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, as well as being fully insured to give you peace of mind.

I specialise in long distance, self sufficient backpacking trips through remote wilderness areas of Scotland. These can be multi-day trips on recognised trails, such as the West Highland Way, the Skye Trail or a more random collection of drove roads, deerstalker tracks, coffin routes or old rights of way. Self sufficient, or unsupported, to me means carrying food and shelter for at least part of the trip and perhaps re-supplying along the way. If a fully self sufficient adventure is not what you are looking for but still looking for the security of a guide, I can help you make that happen.
