Price: £100.00

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June 2019 two level 3 walks in Kintail meeting at 0830 each morning in the Cluanie Inn car park which is on the roadside of the A87 by the end of Loch Cluanie. We will organise car share from here and head out to the days excursion, returning for coffee or a pint once finished.

Day one, Saturday, we will ascend the magnificent and best known of the Kintail peaks, The Saddle, via the stunning Grade One scramble of the Forcan ridge. From The Saddle we will head for Sgurr na Sgine before returning to our start point at Malagan Bridge. This is a 14km day with 1,400m of ascent and should take us about 8 hours.

Day two, Sunday, we will tackle the highest peak in this area of Kintail, A'Chralaig and also take in the narrow ridge walk out to Mullach Fraoch-choire. This walk has a steep ascent from the roadside and a narrow ridge with some rocky steps out to the second Munro. Stunning views out to Glen Affric, as well as Loch Cluanie can be seen. This is a 13km day with 1,200m of ascent and should take us about 7 hours.

Citylink run a direct bus service from both Edinburgh and Glasgow to Portree, both of which pass by the front doors of the Cluanie Inn and Kintail Lodge Hotel. If you speak to the driver, they will drop you off and pick you up at both locations. They're very used to walkers using both as a base for Kintail.
