Date: 28th September 2019
Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September 2019 is a two day expedition in the remote and wild area at the head of Loch Monar. We will tackle the six Munros of Bidean a'Choire Sheasgaich, Lurg Mhor, Sgurr Choinnich, Sgurr a'Chaorachain, Maoile Lunndaidh and Moruisg in a circular route from the famous Gerry's Hostel, Craig, Achnashellach, Strathcarron, Wester Ross, IV54 8YU. We will meet at 0830 in the forestry car park across the road from the Hostel on the A890.
This is a level 4 walk due to the distance, some 46km split over the two days, and the remoteness. We will backpack this route, camping somewhere on the way round, usually after Sgurr a'Chaorachain at the bealach Drochaid Mhuilich.
You will need to have a good level of fitness for this walk which is a mixture of estate paths, rough track, and pathless, steep ground. These are big mountain days in extremely remote countryside and should not be underestimated. If you have any questions or reservations about your fitness and ability to achieve this walk, please contact me beforehand to discuss.
If you require to borrow some gear for this trip, please contact me beforehand. I have tents, sleeping bags, rucksacks and stoves.
If staying the night before or after, previous clients have stayed at Gerry's - https://gerryshostel.com/
Ideally we would organise car share in advance to minimise our environmental impact.
Cost is only £100 per person (maximum group size is 8) Book early to avoid disappointment.
