Date: 1st September 2019
Sunday 1st September 2019, a level 4 walk (due to the distance) of 35km (22 miles) which will take between 10 and 12 hours to complete.
Taking in all five Munros of The Mounth, including Lochnagar, Carn a' Choire Bhoidheach, Carn an t-Sagairt Mor, Cairn Bannoch and Broad Cairn, this route is very different from the normal baggers route up the side of Loch Muick.
We will meet at 0800 on Sunday 1st September 2019 in the car park opposite Auchallater Farm, AB35 5XS (grid reference NO 155 881) before walking into Loch Callater Lodge and beginning the ascent on good paths up onto The Mounth. Once on the plateau, the going is fairly straightforward as there is very little ascent\descent between the Munro summits, it's just the distances between some of them that make it a long, challenging day. Please do not underestimate the distance, 35 km (22 miles) is a long day.
Bring your head torch and spare batteries as it's highly likely part of the descent will be in the dark.
If staying the night before\after, previous clients have used the Youth Hostel in Braemar where you can get 10% off your stay with my code King-19. There are Hotels and B&B's available in the village also as well as a campsite at https://www.braemarcaravanpark.co.uk/
Cost of this days walking is £35 per person (maximum group size 10)
